Arok Choi joined VMBI Lab as a graduate student in 2023. Within the MyHealthMart project, she is responsible for the UX/UI design based on the concept of PHR digital assetization and valuation.

Wongyung is an undergraduate student who joined my lab in June 2022. He is interested in veterinary/medical informatics by analyzing Electronic Health Records. Further, he is using artificial intelligence for analysis of multi-omics data. His main goal is to provide predictive, preventive and personal(individual) health care.

Yeongmin Kim

Yeongmin is interested in the application of artificial intelligence to the biological domain, who joined this lab in July 2022. He researched normalizing flow and graph neural network models with various datasets.

Dr. Jin joined the department in August 2018. His research work is on hepatocellular carcinoma.

Dr. Habtamu joined the department in March 2019. His research interests are in machine learning approaches for designing prediction models by investigating the association between brain morphometry and demographic attributes that affect cognitive reserve. His research focuses mainly in the area of Bioinformatics and Computational Neuroscience.

John completed B.S. in Microbiology and Statistics from University of Georgia, 2016. He joined the department in Fall 2018. His current interests revolve around development of new approaches to glean biological insights from emerging sequencing technologies, mainly pertaining to the regulation of transcription and splicing. He is exploring a variety of projects in pure and applied bioinformatics: 1) Impact of technical biases of single cell RNA sequencing; 2) Detection of regulation of pre-mRNA processing from scRNA-seq; 3) MicroRNA target prediction and roles in human disease; 4) Etiological relevance of alternative splicing in human disease; and 5) Detection and regulation of nonsense mediated decay isoform production from RNA-seq.

Juhyun completed B.S in Molecular biology from University of Hanyang, 2018. He joined the department in Spring 2018. He interested in Cancer genetics and Neuro science. His main research is using RNA-seq analysis to identify novel Alternative Splicing event. Now, he is conducting an alternative splicing study on SNP affecting the onset of Alzheimer's disease. Also, He is working to integrate genomic and transcript data generated by NGS technology to identify functional exon skipping events and genetic variations, and to discover new molecular mechanisms that impact alternate splicing at the genome level.

Jaehang completed Msc degree in Plant systematics from Yeungnam University, 2017. Currently, he is working as a Senior Staff of the academic content department of the genome company, EONE-DIAGNOMICS Genome Center.
